More GP Practices are looking towards Health Care Assistants (HCAs) to alleviate pressures on their nursing teams.
Health Education England (HEE) wants to further encourage practices to change the shape of their workforce by actively recruiting more HCAs via the HCA Apprenticeship Scheme.
Practices that meet a defined set of criteria are eligible to receive funding to support Health Care Assistants in completing a level 3 apprenticeship in clinical healthcare support, plus primary care specific ‘bolt-on’ modules (Venepuncture/ECG/Wound Care/Motivational Interviewing & First Aid).
If you are looking to hire a HCA or up-skill an existing member of staff over the coming months then why not apply for the HCA Scheme and you could receive a payment of £6800!
Foundry medical Group is currently working in partnership with Barnsley College to provide ongoing support to practices participating in the scheme for 2017-18.
