33.3% of General Practice Nurses are due to retire by 2020 (2016 QNI Report).
To encourage general practices to move away from the ‘recycle & poach’ mentality towards nurse recruitment and move towards taking this step of considering the appointment of a new NMC registered nurse or a return-to-practice nurse, Health Education England (HEE) is offering a financial incentive over a two year period. This incentive is to be used to support the education and training of their new general practice nurse (GPN) over their first two years of employment.
Incentive Details: £3000 (£1500 in year 1, £1500 in year 2) plus support from Foundry Medical Group ATP Hub.
